Controversial social media activist and influencer, Martins Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan, has publicly extended an apology to renowned Human Rights Lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), and his son, popular musician and activist, Falz. This follows Otse’s recent involvement of both men in allegations he made against popular Nigerian internet personality, Bobrisky.
The apology came after VeryDarkMan mentioned Falana and Falz in the context of a dispute surrounding Bobrisky, who has been at the center of various controversies. While it’s unclear how the legal luminary and his son became entangled in the narrative, Otse’s remarks raised eyebrows and sparked reactions across social media.
In his apology, VeryDarkMan expressed regret for bringing the Falana family into the matter, acknowledging that it was inappropriate to do so. “I respect Femi Falana and Falz for their dedication to human rights and social justice, and it was wrong to involve them in this issue,” Otse stated.
Both Femi Falana and Falz have long been recognized for their outspoken activism, especially regarding issues of injustice and government accountability in Nigeria. Falz, a respected figure in both the entertainment and advocacy spaces, has notably championed the #EndSARS movement and other social causes.
With VeryDarkMan’s apology, the situation seems to be moving toward resolution, but it has reignited discussions on the role of influencers and activists in handling public disputes. As controversies continue to unfold in the Nigerian social media space, many are left wondering about the fine line between activism and sensationalism.
For now, all eyes remain on how both Femi Falana and Falz will respond to the apology and whether this marks the end of the issue.
