In a recent ruling, a US judge has decided that Prince Harry’s visa application will stay private, despite his open admissions of past drug use in his memoir Spare. The Duke of Sussex candidly shared his experiences with marijuana, cocaine, and psychedelic mushrooms in the book, which was released in January 2023.
The legal push to disclose his immigration records came from the conservative Heritage Foundation, which filed a lawsuit seeking to determine if Harry’s drug use was declared in his visa application. However, Judge Carl Nichols ruled that “the public does not have a strong interest in disclosure of the duke’s immigration records.”
This decision means Prince Harry’s visa details will remain confidential, protecting his privacy while allowing the ongoing public conversation about high-profile immigration cases to continue.
